Bolton Wanderers Football Club is an English professional association football club established in 1874 as Christ Church FC in the area of Horwich in the Metropolitan Borough of Bolton, Greater Manchester. Bolton Wanderers former home was Burnden Park, where Bolton Wanderers played for 102 years. In 1877, Christ Church changed its name to Bolton Wanderers

In 1888, Bolton Wanderers joined the Football League. In 1995, Bolton Wanderers reached the Premiership under the management of Rioch. Bolton Wanderers were one of the 12 founder members of the Football League. Bolton Wanderers is third in the Football League and First Division on three occasions. In 2001, Bolton Wanderers began their current spell in the Premier League. Bolton Wanderers enjoyed a continuous stay in the top flight from 1935 to 1964.
In 1997, Bolton Wanderers moved to the Reebok Stadium. Bolton Wanderers have not won a major trophy since 1958.



In 2005-06 Bolton Wanderers take part in European competition for the first time and reaching the last 32 of the UEFA Cup. Bolton qualified for the 2007-08 tournaments by finishing 7th in the 2006-07 Premier League season and this time Bolton qualified managed to reach the last 16 of the competition. The current 2011-12 season is Bolton Wanderers's thirteenth season in the Premier League and eleventh consecutive season in the top flight of English football.
